What helps
Nothing formal is required — a sentence is enough to start. If you already know the shape of the thing, these three make the first reply a useful one rather than a list of questions:
- What you need made
- Roughly when you need it
- Roughly what it is worth to you
If you do not know yet, say that instead. Working out what a project actually is counts as part of the work, and it is usually the part that decides whether the rest goes well.
