Design & identity

The mark, the system it lives in, and the physical objects it ends up on.

Logo design

A mark is the smallest thing a company owns and the hardest to change later, so it is drawn rather than assembled. That means construction that holds at any size, from a favicon to the side of a vehicle, and a rationale you can repeat to someone who was not in the room.

Graphic design

The system around the mark: type, colour, grid, and the rules that let someone who is not a designer lay out a page next year without it falling apart. Consistency is a design problem, not a discipline problem.

Illustration

Drawing by hand, which is what keeps an identity from looking assembled out of the same stock shapes as everyone else. It is also the fastest route to an image that does not exist yet and cannot be photographed.

Artwork prepared for the physical process that will actually reproduce it — screen, direct-to-garment, embroidery, offset — with the separations, bleed and colour limits each one demands. A file that looks right on screen and fails on press is not finished artwork.

Why one studio can carry all of this is in What we do.
