Music production

Original composition, arrangement and mixing, written to the picture rather than laid underneath it afterwards. Scored music can carry a scene that the edit alone cannot.

Sound design

The layer nobody is meant to notice: atmospheres, effects, and the small sounds that make an image feel like a place. It is usually bought last and rushed, which is exactly why it is worth doing properly.
